A fan field journal for lanes, drafts, and five-player fights that still match the live client

Lumenlane is an independent reading room for Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, the free 5v5 arena Moonton released on 14 July 2016 and relaunched under the Bang Bang name on 9 November 2016. We write about the Land of Dawn you actually queue into: three lanes, a jungle between them, and a roster that Moonton counted at 133 heroes during the 2026 anniversary, up from 10 at launch. Roles stay Tank, Fighter, Assassin, Mage, Marksman, and Support. Nothing here sells diamonds, accounts, or a boosted rank. The official match stays inside Moonton’s own apps.

How a match unfolds

Minions, jungle camps, and a draft that changes every ranked queue

A match is a clock, not a menu. Minions leave base every 30 seconds. Turrets punish anyone who steps up without a wave. Gold from last hits buys the six equipment slots that actually change a fight.

Classic lets a squad ignore rank gaps and pick freely, including the weekly free heroes. Ranked pairs you near your own tier and spends stars when the base falls. Brawl shrinks the map to one lane, and Magic Chess turns heroes into an auto-battler. If a line here feels stale after a Moonton patch, write [email protected] and we will check it against the live client.

Why players keep reading

Named roles, live hero counts, and notes that admit when a patch moved a skill

We describe the game Moonton ships. By 17 June 2026 the roster had reached 133 heroes, with Hirara arriving in season 41, after a decade that Moonton marked with 42 season updates.

A standard match still asks five players to hold gold, experience, mid, jungle, and roam. Counting outer and inner towers on both sides, and leaving the two base towers out, gives twelve field towers. The named climb most squads quote runs eight marks from Warrior through Mythical Honor, with Glory and Immortal above that. Diamonds and battle points, when you spend them, stay inside the official client.

October 2026: a ten-year roster, 133 heroes, and 42 seasons on the books

Moonton’s anniversary briefing put the live roster at 133 heroes, counted 42 season updates, and listed 24 casual modes beside the Classic and Ranked queues.

Six roles, five positions, and the June hero who made the roster 133

Hirara’s 17 June debut closed season 41’s new-hero slot. Drafts still sort into Tank, Fighter, Assassin, Mage, Marksman, and Support, then into a lane or the jungle.

Turtle timing, the Lord pit, and why a roam’s first recall matters

March’s lane note walked through buff camps, the Turtle, and the Lord. Gold from those camps buys items. It does not move diamonds in the shop.

Five players, one base

A fresh account still meets early marksmen, a tank, and a mage before the roster opens up. The interesting stretch is the map: gold lane and EXP lane swap sides depending on whether you spawn blue or red, mid sits between them, and the jungle holds buff camps plus the Turtle and the Lord. Clear one lane’s turrets before the base will even let you hit it.

Battle spells such as Flicker, Retribution, and Execute are chosen before the gate opens. Skins and hero unlocks that cost diamonds or battle points exist only in Moonton’s shop. We never ask you to buy those from us.

Questions players actually send

The game is free to download and free to play. Moonton offers optional diamonds, skins, and hero purchases inside the official client, priced by your app store. Lumenlane is a fan journal only. We do not sell diamonds, accounts, rank boosts, or modified apps. If a page online promises free currency for a login, it is not us and it is not Moonton.

Six roles cover the roster: Tank, Fighter, Assassin, Mage, Marksman, and Support, and plenty of heroes wear two of them. A standard queue then places five people on gold lane, EXP lane, mid lane, jungle, and roam. Gold and EXP swap which side of the map they occupy when your team spawns on the other base. Battle spells and emblems are picked with the hero, before the first minion wave.

Classic uses the same three-lane map, but the result does not move your rank, and a party can mix any tiers. Ranked matches you near your own tier, limits who you can invite, and pays or costs stars. Above Mythic, the named stops are Mythical Honor, Mythical Glory, and Mythical Immortal. Brawl and Magic Chess sit on other calendars. Our Dispatches page summarises when a patch changes a rule. Email [email protected] if a number on this site disagrees with your client.

What players write back

Reader portrait beside a note about gold-lane turret timing

Amira Solano

“The gold-lane note finally made turret plates click. I stopped walking up without a wave, and our ranked games stopped opening on a first-blood gift.”

Reader portrait beside a note about Mythic rank

Kenji Okada

“I like that Mythical Immortal is written as a rank, not as a promise I will reach it this season. Mythic still punishes a messy draft, and the page says so.”

Reader portrait beside a note about Turtle and Lord calls

Leah Fortin

“Our squad used the objective summary before a ranked block. The Lord call had a timer, and nobody treated the journal like an official Moonton page.”
